Liam O'Neill, President of the GAA, visits our School in 2014
he school was honoured by a visit from the 37th President of the GAA, Mr. Liam Ó Néill from Trumera in Co. Laois. The school band was out to welcome Mr. Ó Néill and his entourage into the school and later in the P.E. hall Mrs Mulligan, Principal, presented him with a mug representing Bohola, so he would remember his visit while having a cup of tea in the future. Liam Ó Néill gave a short talk on the importance of taking part in any type of sport while you are young. He spoke very strongly and condemned shouting from the sidelines while children were involved in competitive games. He referred to all personnel in his delivery of this message and said he hoped to eliminate this type of sideline behaviour from sport especially those which involved children during his spell in office. He then took a question and answer session during which the children came up with excellent questions and Liam Ó Néill credited them by putting time and effort into his answers. Also present on the day were officials from the Moy Davitts Club, the Connaught GAA Council and Kiltimagh IRD.
